Peachy.

I found this picture of a beautiful kitchen in a very scandinavian style interior-vise. The peachy tones on the chairs and on the decoration is so pretty, that I thought I would show it to you. Peach is a color that has long been forgotten about, but is now back both in the fashion scene and in our homes and stores. I personally love this color, and I love it when people dare to use bold colors in their homes. Why not choose a colored kitchen accessory instead of black, white or silver? Start with the small things, and see what a difference a little color makes!

Bike Shelf

This bike hanging on the wall is actually a shelf and it is called Bike Shelf and is designed by Chris Brigham for Knife and Saw. The San Francisco-based designer got the inspiration for this shelf after visiting several friends living in small spaces in New York. He noticed that their bikes were always in the way, in the hall or leaning against another piece of furniture. Chris Brigham realized that there were no intelligent solutions to the problem.
This shelf is made out of solid walnut or ash and is suspended from a square steel rod mount. The Bike Shelf management system provides a compact storage solution for bicycles while its flat top surface acts as a shelf for keys, books or bike accessories. I think this idea is so genius, and a great solution to a problem that a lot of people have. Why not find something that looks great and is functional at the same time? (A specially if you own a cool, yellow bike that you wouldn't mind hanging on your wall...)

Comfy Cargo Chair

This is the Comfy Cargo Chair, and as you can see you can fill it with what ever you want. It is designed by Stephan Schulz and the idea behind the chair was to create a piece of furniture that has no restrictions as far as the form is concerned. What is great about this chair is that the designer gives the original shape to the chair but leaves its owner to complete the design; this way the surface the item remains unfinished giving the user the opportunity to change its form in any possible way.
The design consists of a three dimensional grid. An open structure of hollows that allow the user to fill with any material; books, newspapers, pillows, anything you can imagine. The choice of material, shape and texture of the things that will “fill” the chair reflect the taste of the owner whilst it makes it a personal design at the same time. A creative procedure that can be repeated over and over again, a chance for everybody to be the creator of an individual piece of furniture. The Comfy Cargo Chair consists of 52.46 meters of 8mm sturdy rounded steel. It has 66 curved elements and alone weighs 20.89 kg, with a volumetric capacity of 0.5 cubic meters. Together the cross beams and curves provide a very stable construction for sitting.
This is a very creative and fun idea, and I like the fact that you can choose the filling of your own chair and change it as many times as you'd like. If you get bored with the look of your chair, you just put something new inside of your chair! This is perfect for an indecisive person or someone who likes to change things a lot. You don't have to buy a new chair, you just find what ever lying around in your home and put it in your chair. Its as simple as that!

Unusial materials

I thought I would share a picture with you witch shows you a new material that more and more people choose to bring into their homes: The pallet. The pallets are used to transport various goods and groceries, and is normally something we consider trash. This rough and unpolished appearance of the pallet has previously been unattractive to most people, but lately some have found numerous ways to be creative with this material. It can be used as a base for your bed, a lounge chair for your outdoors-area, a table, and now I have also seen as a headboard for the bed. I really like the idea of using it as a headboard, but what I like even more is that someone chose to paint on it! I like the message "love" a lot, and its very appropriate for the bedroom, don't you think? So if you don't have a lot of money or you just want to be creative, look around you and see what you can use! You might be surprised what you can make beautiful with just a little creativity...

Robert's in environment

Remember when i blogged about Robert's Radio a while ago? I found this picture with a Robert's Radio in it, and I thought I would share it with you. See how beautiful the retro design can be with the right furniture? I love these radios, and I love that you can get them in a lot of different colors. I love the whole color palette that is used in this styling, and the striped chair with the funky variant of the british flag is just awesome! You like?

Popping Pink

This hot pink is definitely one of my favorite colors for the spring, both in clothing and interior! It just makes everything look so fresh and bright, and it pops out of the pictures. Don't you agree? The hot pink really compliments the bright yellow and the aqua toned blue, and its girlish, fun, bright and hot. Who can dislike that?

Branch for clothing

I found this picture on weheartit and I thought I would show it to you! This is such a great idea, and if you like to have your clothes on display this might be something for you. Paint a branch in a color you like, hang it from the ceiling with a couple of lines, and hang your clothes, belts and accessories on it. It looks a lot better than a normal clothing-rack, and inspires for creativity and bringing nature inside your home.

Put your interest on display

A lot of people have hobbies and interests that enquire a lot of things to enjoy them. It might be photography, it might be drawing or it might be sports. In the picture above, someone obviously loves music and decided to put all their LP-records and CDs on display, as well as their record player. Unfortunately, a lot of people think that you have to keep things like DVDs, CDs (or what ever you collect) hidden. Why not put them on display? Find a nice way to store them out in the open so that you can enjoy them every day. I think this is such a beautiful picture, and it shows that you don't need to put your favorite things away. Show people what you love!

Splash of Color

A beautiful splash of color for your inspiration today! I love how the light brown colors in the background resembling trees in the woods, and the bright colors merging up from the ground all around. Pretty, pretty, pretty.

Simple and plain

I found this picture, which is kind of plain, but something about it just caught my eye. I love all the neutral colors (the soft grey, beige and white) and how they all go so perfectly together. The white pendant with the black cord hanging over the sofa is just the cherry on top, all though the sofa with the books is obviously the center of attention. This is a greatly styled picture, and sometimes the simple and plain can be the most inspiring.

What can fit inside a yellow, tiny box?

This tiny yellow box actually contains every piece of furniture you need... Can you believe it? It is called CASULO and it is designed by Marcel Krings & Sebastian Mühlhäuser. You can set it up in less than ten minutes and later repacked into the yellow box again without any tools needed.
Inside the box you will find an armoire, a desk, a hight-adjustable stool, two more stools, a six-shelf bookcase, and a bed with a mattress. I think this is so unbelievably amazing, I don't have any words for it. This is perfect for students who have a limited space to work with but still would like to have furniture that looks great. This is so perfect because you can put it away when you need the extra room. This is brilliant! If you want to see how this is assembled you have to watch the video below:

Again, I just think this is so amazing, and if you want to learn more you have to visit www.mein-casulo.de.

Helga Steppan

These pictures are taken by swedish photographer Helga Steppan, and these pictures are from her series " See through - All my things". This series have pictures of all of her personal belongings divided into color groups.
I think it is very cool to see how many white, black and red stuff she owns, and I like the messy yet styled look in her pictures. The result is very original and this is really a creative and fun idea! I like the white picture the best, mostly because of all of the small details in the picture, and probably because she had a lot more white things to work with.

Time to inspire

Thought I would start out the day with showing you a picture of a beautiful room. In this room they've mixed a lot of different furniture, but they have somehow managed to make it all flow together. Also the room becomes a whole lot more special with the sloping roof and the huge windows, witch creates this beautiful lighting and openness in the room. I also like the distinctive beams in the ceiling, and the huge industrial lamp in black. Time to inspire and to be create people, hope this picture helped you on your way!

Hello, Yellow!

Look at these fresh and beautiful pictures I found on weheartit! I thought I would wright a little more about colors-use in the home, and also give you a few examples of how it can be done. I chose to show you some examples with one of my favorite colors; Yellow!
All of these pictures have a few things in common, and that is 1: The use of accent color. 2: They all have the accent color yellow. 3: All of the rooms in the picture have a pretty neutral base, and that is a great trick to create a calm and balanced home, - even with the use of such a bright color as yellow.
There is a lot of different shades of yellow, and a tip is to play around with different yellow-tones to make the room a little more edgy. On the picture above they have chosen a bright yellow wallpaper with some white print on it, pillows with a little more of a dirty-yellow color and finished it off with the final touch of yellow wild-flowers on the side-table. You have to make sure that the yellow-tones do NOT clash, and that people can see that they are different on purpose so that it doesn't become distracting for the eye. We all want a beautiful and calm home, so that our guests feel relaxed and at ease when they visit us.
In my opinion the yellow really is a positive color that literally brightens up our (at least my) day. It will make any boring home a whole lot more special and unique with just a touch of it, and if your'e not "brave" enough to use this color on a big surface, start with smaller things like accessories and decorations. How about a cute yellow pillow, or a pretty yellow vase? Just remember to play around and see what works for you. You can always chose an other color you like or love, and find the one that suits your home the best! www.weheartit.com.

Inspiration from Rice

I found these beautiful styling photos done by Rice for their inspirational shoot for spring 2011. I like Rice a lot, and as you can see they have a lot of decor and furnishing that is colorful and a little bit on retro side.
These photos really give me a spring feeling, and I like the pieces and decorations that they have chosen for these stylings. I like the bright colors on the candleholders that they show in the picture above, the lanterns and lampshades, as well as the colorful and printed pillows in the green chair. Absolutely an inspiration for the outdoor area, and also the insides when springtime comes!
If you like some of the things you saw in these photos Rice has a page you can visit. So, to see more from Rice and to look at their products, visit www.rice.dk.

The easy part is buying it.

I found this amazing video on youtube about how the Eames shell chair was built. I think it is really fascinating to see how these chairs are actually made and built up. What a process! I wonder if this is how its done today...
