Float Pendant Lights

This is the Float Pendant Light and it is designed by Benjamin Hubert, and what is special about this lighting is the material and how it is made. It is made out of hand turned Portuguese oak cork and it is constructed from the waste product in wine stopper manufacture.  

I really like the Float Pendant Lights of numerous reasons. The first obvious reason is the appearance, and I like the very natural look that the cork gives with the contrast of the yellow insides. I also like that you can get the pendant in different sizes and hang them in a nice composition. The third (and maybe the most important) is that it is eco-friendly and that always is a huge plus! I like it when designers want to create something beautiful as well as environmentally friendly, and it makes the rest of us feel good when we buy something new for our homes.

Simple and plain

I found this picture, which is kind of plain, but something about it just caught my eye. I love all the neutral colors (the soft grey, beige and white) and how they all go so perfectly together. The white pendant with the black cord hanging over the sofa is just the cherry on top, all though the sofa with the books is obviously the center of attention. This is a greatly styled picture, and sometimes the simple and plain can be the most inspiring. 

What can fit inside a yellow, tiny box?

This tiny yellow box actually contains every piece of furniture you need... Can you believe it? It is called CASULO and it is designed by Marcel Krings & Sebastian Mühlhäuser. You can set it up in less than ten minutes and later repacked into the yellow box again without any tools needed. 

Inside the box you will find an armoire, a desk, a hight-adjustable stool, two more stools, a six-shelf bookcase, and a bed with a mattress. I think this is so unbelievably amazing, I don't have any words for it. This is perfect for students who have a limited space to work with but still would like to have furniture that looks great. Soft Geometry Light

This pendant is called the Soft Geometry Light and it is designed by Mathieu Lehanneur for Lasvit. He calls it a giant quartz shaped pendant light, a stone which thinks and breathes. The carbon black is a nice contrast to the glowy, white and grey bubbly shapes on the side. I really like it, and it certainly is a one-of-a-kind piece and design.

"Sometimes the world is reduced to several large families: plant; animal; mineral. But it is the non-indentified organisms which escape this division. Living objects disrupt these established boundaries. Soft Geometry being an example of which. Halfway between quartz and gas, between mineral and animal, Soft Geometry is a stone which thinks and breathes. It was first noticed somewhere in Bohemia. Bunga Chair

This set of chairs and table are called the Bunga Chair and it is designed by Melisa Indra. It is a children's seating group with the shape of a flower (Bunga means flower), and her inspiration was to make kindergarden children sit comfortably in their seats as a group and not by them selves. 

The yellow table in the centre is the bud and the white chair around is the petals, and what is great about the group is that the seating fits perfectly around the table. This means that this group is perfect for compact living and small spaces, and can easily be tidied up. I like that the seating group is shaped like a flower, and that someone wants to create something fun and creative for children. I also like that this is adult friendly, with nice colors and structure.

Pleats-Pleats

This yellow, beautiful sofa is called the Pleats-Pleats sofa, and it is designed by Daniel Hedner from Imaginary Office. "A sofa where precision steel meets handicrafts. Take a seat in a weave of clothed polyurethane foam, that wraps around a white powder coated steel pipe frame in a macram style. Technical foam produced and sponsored by Recticel." That is what Imaginary Office has to say about this sofa.

I think this sofa is really one-of-a-kind, and what I really like about the Pleats-Pleats is the knitted look of the surface and fabric. I think that a furniture like this would be a real eye-catcher in any home, and I like that it is so tiny and small in the structure so that the sofa doesn't become overwhelming. There is no secret that I like a little color (and yellow is one of my favorites) but I think that this sofa would appeal to a lot more people if it had a neutral color (such as grey or something in pastel).
