Ruché Sofa

You might remember me posting a blog and showing you the Ruché Bed a few days ago? This is the Ruché Sofa and it is made by the same designer, Inga Sempé. She used the quilted fabrics on this sofa first, and then got inspired to make the bed later in the same style. Inga says that this sofa is nothing more than an upholstered, quilted blanket which is draped over a simple wooden base. 

I think this sofa looks very comfortable, but I don't know how the quilted blanket stays on the wooden frame. I hope it is stuck in some sort of way, so that you don't slide down when you sit in it. That would be really irritating... Also I like the yellow one and the blue one, but I'm not a fan of the black and red one. I can't put my finger one the reason why, but it just doesn't appeal to me in the same way.

Time to inspire

Thought I would start out the day with showing you a picture of a beautiful room. In this room they've mixed a lot of different furniture, but they have somehow managed to make it all flow together. Also the room becomes a whole lot more special with the sloping roof and the huge windows, witch creates this beautiful lighting and openness in the room. I also like the distinctive beams in the ceiling, and the huge industrial lamp in black. Time to inspire and to be create people, hope this picture helped you on your way!

Seraphine birdcage

This is the Seraphine birdcage and it is designed by Georgios Maridakis for Spell in 2006. This birdcage was inspired by the original environment of tropical birds, and it is created by cutting-edge lasercutting technique. It is rolled into shape by hand and then spraypainted with a high-quality metallic paint. You can get the birdcage in either blue, green or bronze.

I think this birdcage is so pretty with its gorgeous patterns mixed with the classic look of an old-school birdcage. I like the colors a lot, and I think this would be a great decorative piece without even owning a bird to put inside of it. Chairs into hangers

You might already see what these are, but just incase you don't, I'm going to tell you. These are recycled chair backs that are made into coat hangers. It was designer Antello Fusé who came up with this idea, and took the classic plain hanger and made it chic.

These coat hangers may not be the most practical thing to have in a full closet, but you must admit that these are pretty fun and special? I think one of these left for people to see would be quite the eye catcher, and what is extra fun is that each one of these hangers are unique and one-of-a-kind.

Hello, Yellow!

Look at these fresh and beautiful pictures I found on weheartit! I thought I would wright a little more about colors-use in the home, and also give you a few examples of how it can be done. I chose to show you some examples with one of my favorite colors; Yellow! 

All of these pictures have a few things in common, and that is 1: The use of accent color. 2: They all have the accent color yellow. 3: All of the rooms in the picture have a pretty neutral base, and that is a great trick to create a calm and balanced home, - even with the use of such a bright color as yellow.

There is a lot of different shades of yellow, and a tip is to play around with different yellow-tones to make the room a little more edgy. On the picture above they have chosen a bright yellow wallpaper with some white print on it, pillows with a little more of a dirty-yellow color and finished it off with the final touch of yellow wild-flowers on the side-table. You have to make sure that the yellow-tones do NOT clash, and that people can see that they are different on purpose so that it doesn't become distracting for the eye. We all want a beautiful and calm home, so that our guests feel relaxed and at ease when they visit us.

In my opinion the yellow really is a positive color that literally brightens up our (at least my) day. It will make any boring home a whole lot more special and unique with just a touch of it, and if your'e not "brave" enough to use this color on a big surface, start with smaller things like accessories and decorations. How about a cute yellow pillow, or a pretty yellow vase? Just remember to play around and see what works for you. Emeco 111 Navy Chair - Coca Cola Edition

This is a collaboration piece that Emeco has done with Coca Cola. They have taken the classic Emeco 111 Navy Chair (made from aluminum) and made a plastic version in Coca Cola style. These chairs are made out of 111 recycled plastic Coca Cola bottles.  

"The 111 Navy Chair: When you recycle a plastic bottle, you're doing something good. When you recycle a 111 of them, you're doing something great. Help your bottles to become something extraordinary again." 

 
I think this is a really great idea, and I think it is very cool when two big companies such as Emeco and Coca Cola does something like this together. This will without a doubt increase and inspire people to recycle, because it gives people a real thing to relate to when it comes to what you can do with recycled goods.
